They don’t have to go do it, of course, it’s their choice to select a field and work on it, but nobody should make some kind of scary exception for math as if it were fundamentally different from all other skills. As if practice makes perfect for all things— but oh, wait, math? No, sorry, math is a magical supertalent that you have to be born with.
